Cornelius "Corney" Donald Bell was a City Photographer for the City of Atlantic City and a free lance photographer for the Press of Atlantic City. He was born on February 7, 1935 in Atlantic City and attended public schools in Atlantic City. He attended the School of Modern Photography in Little Falls, NJ and the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. He completed his apprenticeship at Hess Studios in Atlantic City. Bell served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. During Mayor James L. Usry’s administration, Bell served as a City Photographer for Atlantic City. He also was a freelance photographer for the Press of Atlantic City, taught Basic Photography at the Uptown Complex and owned a business called Shore Photography and Video. He had two children - David Tavares and Tera Rochelle Davis, and he was a member of the St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Atlantic City. Bell passed away on March 15, 2012 at the age of 77.
